Acute stage
Acute stage in an acute hospital (week 1 post-operatively)
As an Occupational Therapist, you are involved in Mrs. Chan rehabilitation program from Day 3 post-surgery to the post-discharge stage. Right now, Mrs. Chan's activity level is gradually increased. She is medically more stable and free of complications after the surgery. She is able to transfer to bedside commode on Day 4 with moderate assistance from the nurse/nursing attendant.
On Day 3 to week 1, OT program is mainly carried out in the ward.
