
Call for Abstracts - Instructions to Authors
The Scientific Committee of the Hong Kong Occupational Therapy Symposium 2010 welcomes the submission of abstracts for concurrent presentation sessions in this symposium to be held from 30 Jan 2010 in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Authors must submit abstracts by email to the Scientific Committee at: ki-ki@aronbest.com (Attn: Ms. Kiki Yuen). Please note that only electronic submissions will be accepted.
General Policy
- Abstracts must be submitted in English.
- There must be a cover email/ letter stating authors’ qualification, place of work, corresponding address, telephone number and email.
- The same abstract has not previously been published before and has not otherwise been submitted elsewhere for publication.
- Authors can submit more than one paper.
- Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
- Abstracts will be reviewed by an international panel of experts. An abstract may be selected for oral or poster presentation, or be rejected.
- Deadline for Abstract Submission: 12 Dec 2009
- Notifications of acceptance will be sent to presenting authors on 31 Dec 2009.
- Presenting authors of the abstracts are required to register and pay for the registration fee. Failure of doing so will result in exclusion from the final programme.
- All accepted abstracts may be published in the Hong Kong Journal of Occupational Therapy (HKJOT).
Abstract Format
- Type the abstract using the form provided in single line spacing with no blank line in between. The length of the abstract is limited to 250 words, Font: Times New Roman, Font size: 12 points, Spacing: Single-line spacing)
- Upon submission, authors will receive an email notice for their own record.
- Author and co-author names, institutions, cities and countries are to be typed in appropriate boxes. Include family name and initials of author(s). Do not include degrees or professional titles (Dr, PhD, Prof, MD, etc.)
Abstract Content
Make the abstract as informative as possible. Conclusions must be supported by data. Organize the body of the abstract as follows: (a) Background, (b) Methods, (c) Results, (d) Conclusion. Use standard abbreviations. Place unusual abbreviations or acronyms in parentheses after first use. Do not identify author(s) or institution(s) in text.
